A 30-day plan, opportunity worksheet, and questions to ask before you invest in aftermarket revenue.
A 30-day implementation plan
- Days 1–5: choose one family, inspect existing orders, product pages, stock and margin; interview support or customers; document unknowns.
- Days 6–10: create and review a small compatibility map; record evidence and exceptions; test model aliases.
- Days 11–15: publish the highest-confidence links on equipment and part pages; add a direct return path for owners.
- Days 16–22: instrument views, clicks, add-to-cart, purchases, wrong-fitment reports and cost; verify tracking with test transactions.
- Days 23–30: review the data, interview affected shoppers or support staff, distinguish observation from causation and decide whether to improve, scale or stop.

Five useful questions to ask a merchant
- When a customer asks which replacement fits, how do staff find the answer?
- Which equipment families generate the most repeat consumable or parts demand?
- Where do wrong-part orders, returns or support calls originate?
- What information do you have about products previously purchased - and how reliable is it?
- What would you need to measure before investing in a better replacement journey?
