How to create a product registration QR code
Give customers a direct route to register the product they’ve just unpacked.
- 1
Prepare your registration page
Use a public form on your store or a form provider. Ask for the information you need, such as product model, serial number and purchase date. See our guides on warranty and product registration and using QR codes for registration for what to collect and how to use registration data effectively.
- 2
Generate your product label
Paste the complete form URL and add a product name. Download a PNG or SVG for your packaging designer, or print a label directly.
- 3
Scan before you print
Open the link on a phone without logging in. Then scan a physical sample at its final size. Keep the white border intact and the destination live.
FOR SHOPIFY MERCHANTS
A useful scan starts with a useful destination
A product registration QR code can point to a public Shopify page or an external registration form. If you already have a form, use its full public link. If it supports prefilled product details, paste the prefilled link instead.
Put the code where customers will see it: a packaging insert, an instruction booklet or a label. Say what the scan is for. A generic “scan me” gives customers little reason to act.
Registration isn’t the only useful destination. You can also link to an owner page with product manuals, support information and compatible replacement parts.
THE NEXT STEP WITH OWNERLOOP
Help customers find what fits the product they own.
OwnerLoop helps Shopify merchants connect products to compatible parts, accessories and owner-page resources. Explore the app when you need more than a link on a label.

GOOD TO KNOW
Product registration QR code FAQs
Is this product registration QR code generator free?
Yes. Generate and download QR codes and product registration labels without an account, email address, watermark or subscription. You can create another code by changing the product and destination.
Does this create a registration form or collect customer details?
No. This tool links to a registration form you already host. It does not create a form, store customer information, activate a warranty or verify ownership. Customers submit their information to the website encoded in your QR code.
Can I use this for a Shopify store?
Yes. Paste the public URL of your Shopify registration page or a form hosted elsewhere. Test the destination on a phone without being logged in to your store. The code also works with other ecommerce platforms.
Do these QR codes expire or stop working after a trial?
There is no trial or OwnerLoop redirect. The static code contains your destination URL and has no built-in expiry. It remains useful only while that URL is accessible. Keep the destination live for as long as customers may need it.
Can I change the destination after printing?
A static QR code cannot be changed after printing. Use a stable URL on your own domain, then update the page or a redirect at that address when needed. Changing the URL in this generator creates a new QR code.
How do I print a product registration QR label?
Use SVG for scalable artwork or PNG for a high-resolution image. The Print label / PDF button opens your browser’s print dialog. Keep the white border around the code, use a high-contrast print and scan a physical sample before ordering a print run.
Will adding a product name prefill my registration form?
No. Brand, product name and model appear on the label only. If your form supports prefilled links, create that link in your form provider and paste the complete URL here, including its query parameters.
